Brief Job Description
Performs moderately complex customer service functions in a Community Care Services Eligibility (CCSE) centralized intake unit. • Accept and process telephone, fax and walk-in requests for CCSE program services. • Provides general and specific information about CCSE program services. • Refers and assigns intakes to CCSE staff. • Interviews individuals to gather information to be used to make appropriate referral and/or complete intake documents. • Documents information manually and into multiple automated systems. • Verifies client information utilizing multiple automated systems. • Refers individuals to other programs, agencies, and other community organizations. • Completes special assignments and/or reports. • Maintains confidentiality of all incoming and outgoing information. • Understands and adheres to all HHSC and CCSE policies and procedures. • Provides outstanding customer service in person, over the telephone and via e-mail. • Maintains a positive and productive attitude while working in a fast-paced call center environment.

Refer intakes to CCSE staff. 30%
Accept and process telephone and fax requests for CCSE program services. 30%

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. 10%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of interviewing techniques to obtain personal information, to make inquiries and to resolve conflicting statements.
Knowledge of resources that serve individuals who are older or have a disability
Skill in the use of standard office equipment.
Skill in the use of automated software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.).
Ability to understand and implement administrative procedures, interpret rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with a varied audience.
Ability to set priorities, establish timeframes and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with consumers, co-workers, contract agency staff and staff from Federal and/or State agencies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment.

Initial Screening Criteria
Education equivalent to high school degree. Experience interviewing and providing customer service. Experience and efficiency operating computer and phone equipment to complete data entry. Experience with Community Care Services and Eligibility programs preferred.

Occasional overtime and/or extended work hours may be needed for the position.
