The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The QIDP-I (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional I) performs routine (journey-level) work meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Work involves assessing and determining individual resident needs and developing appropriate programs. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
The QIDP I is directly accountable for the monitoring of a highly individualized Personal Support Plan (PSP) which promotes dignity, respect, choice, and the exercising of personal rights for each person who is on their assigned caseload. The Personal Support Plan (PSP) for each person must be developed by the person’s appropriately constituted Personal Support Team (PST) through an integrated, collaborative and comprehensive program planning process that reflects the person’s preferences, strengths, needs and personal vision. The QIDP-I advocates for the individual and coordinates ISP processes. A key component of this position is, but not limited to, coordinating, monitoring and development of plans and systems, implementation of plans and systems, gathering of evidence for the Settlement Agreement process and monitors, such as federal CMS, ICF, state contracted, and the like, to ensure the facility is in compliance with all related standards.
Work schedule requires regular flexibility, to ensure effective oversight and monitoring of active treatment programs, services and supports.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Participates in developing resident programs.
Reviews resident program plans for effectiveness.
Observes and interacts with residents and documents observations and interactions to assess residents’ responses to programs and services provided.
Monitors resident behaviors and recommends positive behavioral support plans.
Records information on the needs and strengths of residents.
Performs related work as assigned.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of the Personal Support Team (PST) process.
Knowledge of rehabilitation and skills acquisition programs for persons with intellectual disabilities, including program design and collecting and analyzing data.
Ability to coordinate programmatic and clinical services and supports.
Ability to prepare and maintain records.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and constructive manner.
Ability to assess and solve problems.
Ability to work independently and organize/prioritize work.
Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with staff at all levels.
Ability to physically perform direct care work as needed, including emergency procedures.
Skills in facilitating Personal Support Team meetings to ensure participation by all members and achieve desired outcomes.
Skill in using a personal computer to create documents and reports.
Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
N/A
Initial Screening Criteria:
At least one (1) year experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.
At least bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related human services field.
Experience in ICF/IID standards is required.
Experience in use of Microsoft WORD, Outlook and Excel.
Additional Information:

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
