The Director of Incident Management performs moderately complex (journey-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities related to Incident Management include coordination of investigation analysis related to incidents, injuries, deaths and Abuse/Neglect confirmations and taking action to reduce the rates at the facility. The Director, chairs some facility-wide committees and works with other local organizational disaster planning and as a liaison with OIG, Protective Investigation Services and local law enforcement entities. The Director is responsible for compliance with ICF/IID Standards and DOJ Settlement Agreement.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
1. Conducts and/or oversees facility preliminary and final unusual incident investigations.
2. Serves as a liaison with other agency staff to facilitate compliance with statutory requirements
3. Monitors compliance with the Incident Management section of the Settlement Agreement
4. Identifies concerns and recommends corrective actions for investigations.
5. Serves as a member of the Incident Command System and ensures Emergency Preparedness exercises are completed timely and appropriately.
6. Tracks and trends information related to incidents, risk and safety,
7. Serves as an Executive Duty Officer on a rotating basis,
8. Supervises facility investigators and Campus Administrators.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Knowledge of state requirements regarding incident, abuse/neglect, and mortality investigation
2. Understanding of trending analysis related to injuries, incidents, restraints, and abuse/neglect.
3. Ability to work with teams to effectively reduce risk and ensure safety.
4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to plan, organize, lead and motivate staff.
6. Knowledge of worker's camp requirements.
7. Knowledge of related ICF/IID and Settlement agreement standards.
8. Ability to supervise the work of others.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location

Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university or experience may be substituted on a year by year basis.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing as demonstrated on the application.
Two years’ experience in supervising others preferred.

Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing.
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
