The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. Initiates grocery requirements based on current population and recipe menu requirements. Responsible for inventorying stock on hand at the end of each week/month or as needed. Pulls, receives and stores groceries/supplies appropriate manner, ensuring that each item is properly labeled and dated. Produce/Milk are broken down by 7 cycle day, Saturday through Friday and double-checked for accuracy. Maintains Control Room and Cooler in sanitary condition. Responsible for preparation of weekly supplemental delivery to on-site locations. Inventory management of tracking and organizing stock levels, parts, and supplies. Accurate record-keeping and forecasting abilities are necessary to avoid overstock and understock situations. Completes all job tasks assigned within scheduled working hours and performs other duties regularly. Provide reliable and consistent coverage in area of responsibility. Interacts with individuals residing on campus in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner in order to provide an environment of caring, dignity and respect. Dresses properly in order to avoid injury and present a professional environment. Works harmoniously with fellow employees, supervisors, family and friends of persons served, and the public in order to create an environment of caring, dignity and respect, and that allows for the accomplishment of the facility’s mission. Other duties as assigned including but not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Possibility of shift hour changes that may include weekends and holidays.

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

 

Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

The Storeroom Clerk I works under the general supervision of the Food Service Manager IV, who periodically reviews work in progress an upon completion.  Calculates and places orders for the amount of Produce, Bread, Milk and grocery supplies that will need to be purchased locally and turn it into the Administrative Assistant. Assists in unloading food trucks in the warehouse and checking invoice for accuracy, ensuring that damaged products are returned. Weighs up ingredients for the recipes and prepares them on the carts for the Central Kitchen Cooks. Fills orders from the units and cottages on a weekly basis according to their needs. Takes weekly and monthly inventory. Rotates stock as new stock comes in using the FIFO method. Follows proper dress code for food service and maintain a sanitary work area at all times.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

 

Inventory Experience First In First Out and accountability.

Food Service Experience

Ability to accept constructive criticism.

Experience in working with large groups of people in a professional and proficient manner.

Prior knowledge of working in storeroom or warehouse experience.

•       Work history reflects an acceptable attendance record.

•       Computer experience required, word, excel.

•       Demonstrates ability to communicate verbally and written.            

•       Demonstrates ability to work independently and organize/prioritize work.

•       Demonstrates leadership and group process skills.

•       Demonstrates ability to work harmoniously and professionally with staff at all levels.

•       Ability to lift at least 50lbs.

 

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

 

Servsafe certification is required.

 

Initial Screening Criteria:

 

Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalent.

Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/ Entities (LEIE).

All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing.

 

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
