Brief Job Description:
The Learning Resource Network (LRN) Training Specialist V performs advanced training delivery work. Work involves delivering professional development, policy, systems, and manager training to HHS employees. This position will promote LRN course offerings and conduct training sessions that meet learner expectations and provide the necessary skills for HHS employees to be successful in their jobs. This position routinely collaborates with LRN instructional designers to ensure consistency in content delivery. The LRN Training Specialist V also delivers content for the Leadership and Innovation team as needed.
This position works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
LRN maintains a hybrid workforce with a combination of an in-person and remote workplace subject to change based on policy or agency determination.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Delivers instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and hybrid training using effective classroom training techniques and adult learning principles; utilizes instructor guide, participant guide, visual aids, presentations, gamification software, and virtual meeting tools; ensures content is taught as written to ensure consistency. (40%)
Performs pre-class administrative duties including but not limited to sending MS Teams invitation emails, sending marketing emails for low-class registration, and studying and preparing to teach a successful course; conducts post-course administrative duties including CAPPS administrative activities, administering level 1, 2, and 3 evaluations, and collecting, reporting, and analyzing course data. (20%)
Collaborates with instructional designers to learn new and revised course content; conducts and attends pilots of all new and extensively revised courses; conducts train-the-trainer sessions as designated lead for specific courses; attends train-the-trainer sessions as a participant and conducts teach-backs to receive approval of content mastery. (15%)
Research modern adult learning delivery principles, techniques, and trends; stay abreast of industry training standards; implement new training delivery techniques; attend professional development conferences and trainings. (10%)
May participate in revising course content in collaboration with LRN instructional design team; plans, coordinates, and organizes training activities; performs other duties as assigned. (10%)
Serves as a resource for accessibility in training delivery and provides individualized accommodations to learners with disabilities to have an equal learning experience. (5%)

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
Preferred: Training delivery certification from Langevin, Association for Talent Development, Bob Pike, or from another training certification entity.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, or related field. Direct training delivery experience can be substituted for education on a one year to one year basis.
5 years’ experience in training delivery, including in-person, virtual and hybrid training sessions.
5 years’ administrative experience related to training, including scheduling, registration, and reporting.
