Brief Job description:

Carries out intermediate-level duties in managing enterprise technology environments. Operates under general oversight with reasonable flexibility to make decisions and apply problem-solving skills. May regularly collaborate with team members on tasks requiring higher-level expertise.  Key responsibilities include preserving the accuracy and protection of digital assets on user devices and servers using specialized tools. The role also involves building Technology-enabled processes to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the administrator reviews current operations to assess performance and design improved methods that increase throughput and streamline business processes.

 

Essential Job Functions (EJF)

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency-level Policy and performs duties as assigned.

 (25%) Responsible for supporting, implementing, testing, and maintaining the HHS MobileIron MDM, Apple Business Manager, and SentinelOne servers. Serves as Enterprise Admin backup, provides technical expertise, and understands the business process needs and program requirements. Analyzes new and existing features to determine how modifications and changes will impact the system and environment. Will serve as a technical expert responsible for working with non-technical and technical stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication is maintained throughout. Defines and manages the roles and access privileges of individual users and devices to a variety of applications to prevent unauthorized access.

(20%) Coordinates and/or develops operational procedures, policies, technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system administration. Provide problem resolution while making recommendations to resolve conflicts or escalations to guide a positive outcome for both IT and the programs. Works closely with the departments to ensure a successful experience throughout the entire process, including configuring and supporting cellular devices. Works in conjunction with the Deskside support staff and other outsourced vendors' technical staff to provide optimum customer service. Assists agency employees with mobility-related hardware/software functionality issues or works with the appropriate department to find a resolution.

(20%) Will assist the Enterprise Admin in analyzing new and existing features to determine how modifications and changes will impact the system. Will serve as a technical expert responsible for working with non-technical and technical stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication is maintained throughout system enhancements and upgrades.

(15%) Ensures user needs are properly translated into system requirements and design. Manages, documents, analyzes, designs, validates, and implements systems using selected HHSC methodology and development tools.

(10%) participates in special projects and offers solutions to support operational standards and procedures. Provide guidance and solutions for all IT needs while addressing concerns and providing possible solutions to the IT Management chain.

(10%) Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities required.

- A general understanding of iPhones, Androids, MIFI, Feature Phones, and other cellular devices

- Knowledge of Apple (iOS) and Android operating systems

- Basic understanding of Active Directory

- Knowledge of MobileIron or other mobile device management systems preferred

- Ability to organize and prioritize work

- Ability to work effectively with users and various IT teams

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 

- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed

Initial Screening Criteria:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted year-for-year. 

General experience in systems administration work, required.

Two years of experience in Mobile Device troubleshooting, preferred.

Basic experience of Active Directory Users and computers, preferred.
