Brief Job Description:
The Salesforce Administrator ( Systems Administrator VI) performs advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis work, troubleshooting and customer support of the HHSC Grants Management System in Salesforce. The Salesforce Administrator makes recommendations for improving processes and best practices based on analysis; creates and maintains documentation on processes, policies, application configuration, and maintenance for the Salesforce organization and application. Performs systems administration and production support of the HHSC Grants Management System Salesforce org and its environments. Monitors application health. Troubleshoots and provides solutions to end-user issues. Monitors, maintains, and implements Salesforce org configurations, health of application environments, and ensures Salesforce data and metadata backups are completed. The position will serve as subject matter expert for security assessment reviews of the application. This position will participate in the development and execution of application roadmap strategies in support of the HHSC Grants Management System.
This position reports to the Salesforce Director in HHSC IT Administrative Applications. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Performs systems administration and production support of the HHSC Grants Management System Salesforce org and its environments. Monitors application health. Troubleshoots and provides solutions to end-user issues. Accurately represents the business needs, and effectively communicates them with end users and Salesforce team. (30%)
Monitors, maintains, and implements Salesforce org configurations, health of application environments, and ensures Salesforce data and metadata backups are completed. (30%)
Creates, modifies, and deactivates user accounts. Maintains user profiles, permission sets, groups, and queues, as needed. (15%)
Creates and maintains reports and dashboards. Performs production deployments, as needed. (10%)
Creates and maintains system documentation. Serves as subject matter expert for security assessment reviews of the Salesforce Grants Management System. (10%)
Participates in team meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge in Salesforce configuration and support.
Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of computer systems or management information systems.
Knowledge of applications development, data, security, and prioritization.
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, XP and Lean Development.
Skill in using a PC and Microsoft Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
Skill in problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Skill in working collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues and in building consensus.
Skill in writing analyses, documentation, proposals, plans, policies, procedures, standards, or reports.
Ability to guide technology decisions relative to the Salesforce environment and serve as subject matter expert resource to others.

Registrations, Licensure Requirements, or Certifications:
Salesforce Certified Administrator is preferred.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business or a related field. Appropriate experience including Salesforce administration experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to four years.
Candidate has a minimum of 5 (five) years of Salesforce administration or implementation experience.
Candidate has a minimum of 4 (four) years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process, coding standards, change control, and version management.
Candidate has a minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in enterprise-level Salesforce projects using Agile (Scrum) software development methodologies.
