Brief Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Regulatory Services Applications Long Term Care (LTC) or their designee, serves as a Quality Assurance Lead for the LTC support group. performs advanced software and information systems testing work with primary emphasis on leading and facilitating quality assurance efforts through the design and execution of test plans including the use of automated testing tools like Selenium and other techniques. Manages the repository of all testing documentation for the group across multiple projects and enhancement activities. This position is classified as a fulltime position (40 hours a week). Work outside of regular hours may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Serves as senior analyst with primary emphasis on leading and facilitating quality assurance efforts through the design and execution of test plans including the use of automated testing tools and other techniques for the portfolio. (30%)

 

Reviews and analyzes system documentation to create, edit and update test scripts, scenarios and suites. Identifies and document steps to achieve established priorities. Documents clear, detailed, and thorough test plans for simple to complex requirements. Performs application, UI and batch testing using automated and manual techniques. (30%)

 

Oversees and provides input on the quality assurance process across the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Collaborates with Project Managers, Program SMEs and technical staff to plan for and implement quality assurance during project development and implementation stages. Works with team members to ensure all testing deliverables comply with established standards through code review, planning sessions and other appropriate techniques. Supports Releases by coordinating testing efforts and overseeing compliance to testing checklists. (20%)

 

Provides quality assurance-related consultation to stakeholders inside and outside of the portfolio. Develops scripts, methodologies, tools and best practices to improve team capabilities (10%)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of planning, executing and evaluating quality assurance efforts for automated information systems.

  • Skill in the use of HPALM (Quality Center), Selenium or other similar test automation tools to drive quality assurance and improvement efforts of an information system.

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

ITIL 4 Foundation or above Certification.

 

Initial Screening Criteria:

Applicants must have at least five (5) years of Lead-level experience in quality assurance. Must also have at least five (5) years of experience with any Test Automation tools and techniques.

 

Graduation from a college or university with major course work in computer science or a related field is generally preferred. Related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual.

• This is a hybrid position based in Austin with at least 3 - 5 days in the office required. Selected candidate must be willing to commute to the office on the required days.
