Brief Job Description:

Performs advanced (senior-level) position control reporting and analysis work. Work involves overseeing the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of position control policies and procedures. May assign and/or supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

 

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Reviews, analyzes, and performs position control reporting and analysis work for the IT division on a recurring and ad hoc basis.  Provides, exchanges, and verifies financial information through a variety of methods. Ensures complete and accurate data is gathered for each assignment. Synthesizes data gathered from multiple sources. Monitors ongoing project and operational data and makes recommendations for action based on findings. (35%)

 

Provides technical and/or consultative guidance to IT managers on position control policy and procedures. Researches and provides solutions to issues related to position control management. Develops and maintains internal position control processes and procedures. Develops and maintains position control related SharePoint web pages. (30%)

 

Provides support to IT managers by submitting requests to create, modify, and inactivate IT position records in the Budget Position Control System (BPCS) to update the Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS). Monitors, maintains, and organizes the centralized IT Position Control mailbox. Communicates verbally and in writing on issue resolution and responds to correspondence and emails. (25%)

 

Performs other duties as assigned. (10%)

  • Knowledge of organizational structure.
  • Skill in managing multiple competing assignments, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while working within a large organization and producing high quality work.
  • Skill in understanding and solving complex organizational problems.
  • Skill in written and oral communication, time-management, planning / coordination, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to perform complex operations in MS Office such as advanced Excel, Word, SharePoint, and internet search engines.
  • Ability to coordinate gathering and analyzing detailed and complex financial data.
  • Ability to prepare concise reports.
  • Ability to develop and maintain on-going productive and cooperative professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

N/A

 

 

Initial Screening Criteria:

Experience preparing complex, detailed, clear, concise and accurate reports.

Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook software applications.

Experience using PeopleSoft Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) is preferred.

This is a hybrid position and requires two (2) days in the office. 

 

Telework arrangements are subject to adjustment and change based on policy and operational requirements.
