Brief Job Description:

 

Oversees print production in the HHS print shop from order intake through delivery of completed orders.

Supervise staff including, production, attendance, evaluation of performance, training, and disciplinary actions as required. Ensure quality products are produced efficiently and job orders are completed to meet customer specifications and scheduled due dates. Maintain inventory of and appropriately order necessary supplies needed for print production.

Foster good relations with vendors, suppliers, and service technicians.

 

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Interact with staff and oversee daily operation of the HHS printing department.                        60%

Schedule production of jobs through department including:

During regular operations and periods of machine breakdowns and/or maintenance needs,

staff absences, etc.                                                                                                             10%

Create production and inventory records; Providing to management as needed.                       1%

Communicate with customers regarding order status, and estimated completion of jobs.           5%

Assist staff with operation, maintenance, scheduling and troubleshooting issues.                      2%

Ensure staff complete jobs with acceptable quality and minimal waste.                                    10%

Maintain employee records and perform annual evaluations.                                                   1%

Work with HR regarding issues with employee relations or disciplinary actions.                         1%

Post open positions, select applicants for interview, and complete the hiring process.                1%

Onboard new employees; Provide necessary initial training.                                                    1%

Manage paper and consumables inventory, and coordinate purchases as needed.                      8%

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of: Overall pre-press, print, and bindery production processes.

Skilled in: Managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and managing employees.

Ability to: Display strong leadership and organizational qualities, exhibit problem solving skills, attention to detail, oversee job quality. Ensure safe and environmentally sound practices are performed in the facility. Produce and maintain accurate files and records. Work well under pressure. Work harmoniously and productively with staff. Work irregular hours. Make basic mathematical computations and tabulations. Communicate clearly and effectively with customers.

 

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

Initial Screening Criteria:

5 years’ experience as a production manager in the printing industry.

5 years’ experience as a direct supervisor of multiple staff.
