Brief Job Description:

The PeopleSoft Financials (CAPPS Fin) Quality Assurance Analyst (Systems Analyst IV) reports to the PeopleSoft Financials (CAPPS Fin) Manager in the Administrative Application division (HHSC IT). This position is responsible for executing manual/automated testing activities in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure high quality software and certifies compliance according to regulatory statues, policies, and procedures. Performs highly complex level diagnoses and test planning, documentation, and execution of automated and manual test cases.

 

This position will also create, design, and maintain advanced manual/automation test execution reports and dashboards. Makes recommendations for improving QA and automation processes and best practices based on analysis. Creates and maintains test and automation documentation on processes, policies, application configuration, and maintenance of help-related materials for business / QA team members. Works in collaboration with other team members and management. 

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Provides manual and automation testing of the CAPPS Financials Application. Ensures high quality software and certifies compliance according to regulatory statues, policies, code coverage standards and procedures. Troubleshoots and provides solutions to manual and automated test issues. (40%)

 

Coordinates with other team members on creating and updating applications automated test cases / manual test cases. (20%)

 

Maintains applicable testing documentation as directed. Provides input to UAT test cases, user testing and to Analysts and Product Owners on test results (20%)

 

Creates and maintains reports and dashboards. (10%)

 

Performs other job duties as required. (10%) 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of software Quality Assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of Jira and common test automation software such as Selenium.
  • Knowledge of code coverage tools, process or systems analysis, and design work.
  • Knowledge of software usability concepts and requirements traceability, project management life cycle, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting.
  • Skill in planning and executing manual and automation test cases for IT applications.
  • Skill in performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Skill in monitoring debugging process results, troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Skill in tracking quality assurance metrics, including defect densities and defect counts.
  • Skill in communicating with different stakeholders to identify and gather system requirements.
  • Skill in verbal, written, and presentation communication.
  • Skill communicating with varied levels of staff and end users to develop positive and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to provide assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • Ability to build consensus across multiple teams and working with teams located in different geographic locations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and successfully manage multiple, overlapping deadlines.
  • Ability to perform analysis and maintenance in a production environment, maintaining customer critical applications in a highly visible environment.
  • Ability to accurately track time spent working on projects, as well the ability to accurately estimate changes or enhancements.
  • Ability to analyze work related problems, draw evidence-based conclusions, and devise innovative solutions.
  • Ability to prepare and present accurate, concise, and reliable reports.

Initial Screening Criteria:

At least 3 yrs of System Analyst or Business Analyst experience

 

Experience working with an ERP system

 

At least 3 yrs of experience with SQL

 

Additional Information:

Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual.

This is a hybrid position based in Austin with at least three (3) days in the office required. Selected candidate must be willing to commute to the office on the required days.
