Brief Job Description:
The PeopleSoft Developer completes software development tasks including features, new functionality, and upgrades.
This position works with functional analysts to complete development assignments. Developers work on a range of assignments including implementing system modifications based on design documents, authoring design documents, addressing system issues/defects as well as implementing new interfaces or processes. The individual will also be able to Identify, investigate and resolve production problems and participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with development standards and system/business requirements.
Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Designs, codes, and modifies complex computer programs, subroutines, triggers, stored procedures, objects, classes and scripts. Performs necessary testing of assigned programs, including the generation of test data, writing test scripts/execution sequences, examining test results, debugging detected errors, etc. Performs customer service, coordination, and communications in a complex HHSC organization. (40%)
Oversees trainers, technical support staff, network specialists, and contract staff to perform modifications and updates to existing systems or to implement new systems. Identifies, investigates and resolves production problems. This may include analyzing problems, coding, testing, implementing and training of other technical staff and/or customers. Facilitates stakeholders and user approvals of new system modifications and the migration of fixes. (30%)
Develops current software development methods/techniques and establishes development standards (which include programming standards, documentation standards and testing standards) to ensure the quality and maintainability of applications. Oversees and performs code reviews to ensure compliance with development standards and system/business requirements. Develops and maintains documentation CAPPS Financial Security roles and tasks for internal IT staff and stakeholders. (25%)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials data elements and table structures.
- Knowledge in SQL, PeopleSoft Query, PeopleSoft Trees and configurations, nVision; with preferred knowledge in BI Publisher, Unix/Linux, and Windows.
- Knowledge in migration of objects/projects to production.
- Knowledge and understanding of writing and testing code.
- Knowledge of information technology standards, practices, and project lifecycle.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting rules, processes, and requirements.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming, and systems analysis.
- Knowledge of implementation/upgrade
- Skill in data requirements gathering, query design, development, testing, and tuning.
- Skill in PeopleCode, SQL analysis tools & explain plans, PeopleTools, and PeopleSoft debugging.
- Skill with use of PeopleSoft Financials 8.8 (or higher) and PeopleTools 8.50 (or higher) architecture, tools and Oracle database.
- Skill in oral and written communications that convey technical analysis and data results in common business terms that management, executive, and non-technical customers can understand.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues in a complex system environment.
- Ability to develop technical reporting, develop work plans, track progress, and provide oral and written status reports.

Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from a college or university with major course work in computer science or a related field is generally preferred. Related work experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
8 years of technical experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2
Experience in development using PeopleTools 8.59 or higher
Additional Information:
Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual.

• This is a hybrid position based in Austin with at least two (2) to three (3) days in the office required. Selected candidate must be willing to commute to the office on the required days.
