Brief Job Description:

 

** The position is located in Austin, Texas and requires 2 days per week in the local office. **”

 

  1. Determine system specifications through working with team members and the analysis of workflow, security needs, access and information.
  1. Plan, define, install and configure Peoplesoft systems
  • PeopleSoft and Oracle databases administration
  • Upgrade PeopleSoft environments to latest CPA guided version

 

  1. Monitor, analyze, tune and maintain Peoplesoft system performance
  • Troubleshoot any issues regarding networks, software, hardware and operating systems.
  • Develop Peoplesoft security system based on the demands of the system and data.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other staff to develop, evaluate, install and test software enhancements.
  • Protects HHSC interests, data and projects by keeping sensitive details confidential.
  • Apply patches or bug fixes using PUM
  • Migrate development work from one environment to another using STAT tool
  • Install/configure/upgrade STAT or Phire tool to latest version

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. (10%)

 

Apply security patches, development migrations and administers Application servers, Webservers and maintenance performance (10%)

 

Develops and updates shell scripts to automate alerts and day to day activities. Install/configure databases on Oracle RAC environments. Take RMAN backups & troubleshoot day to day database related issues. Perform DBA & PS Admin activities. (10%)

 

 

Plan, define, install and configure Peoplesoft Financials 9.2 application on PeopleTools 8.59.x /Linux/windows. Performs customer service, coordination, and communications in a complex HHSC organization (20%)

 

 

Oversees trainers, technical support staff, network specialists, and contract staff to perform modifications and updates to existing systems or to implement new systems. Identifies, investigates, and resolves production problems. This may include analyzing problems, coding, testing, implementing, and training of other technical staff and/or customers. Facilitates stakeholders and user approvals of new system modifications and the migration of fixes. (20%)

 

 

Develops current software development methods/techniques and establishes development standards (which include programming standards, documentation standards and testing standards) to ensure the quality and maintainability of applications. Oversees code reviews to ensure compliance with development standards and system/business requirements. Develops and maintains documentation CAPPS Financial Security roles and tasks for internal IT staff and stakeholders. (20%)

 

 

Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned in response to a business need. (10%) 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials data elements and table structures.
  • Knowledge in SQL, PeopleSoft Query, PeopleSoft Trees and configurations, nVision; with preferred knowledge in BI Publisher, Unix/Linux, and Windows.
  • Knowledge in migration of objects/projects to production.
  • Knowledge and understanding of writing and testing code.
  • Knowledge of information technology standards, practices, and project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting rules, processes, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming, and systems analysis.
  • Skill in data requirements gathering, query design, development, testing, and tuning.
  • Skill in PeopleCode, SQL analysis tools & explain plans, PeopleTools, and PeopleSoft administration.
  • Skill in Oracle RAC Installation & configuration
  • Skill with use of PeopleSoft Financials 8.9 (or higher) and PeopleTools 8.59 (or higher) architecture, tools and Oracle database.
  • Skill in oral and written communications that convey technical analysis and data results in common business terms that management, executive, and non-technical customers can understand.
  • Skill in Oracle Database administration & PeopleSoft administration
  • Skill in Oracle & PeopleSoft/PeopleTools upgrades
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues in a complex system environment.
  • Ability to develop technical reporting, develop work plans, track progress, and provide oral and written status reports

 

 

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

N/A

 

 

Initial Screening Criteria:

Bachelor's or Advanced degree required. Work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree up to 4 years.

 

7+ years of experience in PeopleSoft systems administration and implementation.

 

7+ years of experience in Oracle Database administration preferred.

 

Past project experience in implementing PeopleSoft in complex, multiple company environments is preferred.
