Installs, updates and configures operating systems for internal agency customers within established timeframes. Supports onboarding, moves and transfers. Creates accounts, installs hardware and software and resolves issues. Provides coordination and technical supervision of telecommunication projects and implementation.Assists in maintaining the operating system and security software on the network. Assists in on-site activity of contracted services and addresses server issues.

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

 

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
1.Monitor’s service and problem ticket queue in order to assign, respond and resolve tickets within established SLA timeframes Daily.Daily monitoring of service and problem tickets in order to respond and resolve tickets within established SLA timeframes. Install, update and configure Operating System and all supported software applications (desktops, notebooks and mobile devices) and network equipment including asset management activities. Image workstations.(30%)

 

2. Support staff onboarding, move, transfer, and terminations. Creation of and/or responding to helpdesk tickets. Provides OJT and mentoring to entry level IT staff. Installs, tests, and maintains network hardware and software and infrastructure. Maintains network support software and analyzes user support statistics, and recommends appropriate measures. Coordinates office move activities with third party vendors. Maintains the network's physical and logical structures, including network connections. (25%)

 

3. Assists in maintaining the operating system and security software utilized on the network, including the addition of new users to the network and establishment of rights and privileges. Assist in on-site activity in support of contracted service issues. Assists in maintaining the local area network or wide area network, cable and hub/switch installations, inventories. Creates folders on server and sets permissions. Performs and/or monitor third party procedures for backup, recovery, and archival of files stored on the network. Coordinate, schedule, and/or complete telecommunication device and feature installations. Conducts product evaluations of upgraded or new hardware and software identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency; and recommends enhancements to network facilities. (25%)

 

4. Adds/removes users to\from groups to accommodate new users or supervisor requests for access Provide technical supervision of implementation of telecommunications projects affecting the regions. Position would be involved with telecommunication vendors, other agency telecom staff when installing circuits, phone devices, routers, cabling office or new offices to make sure work orders are completed successfully by the vendor. Prepares and analyzes statistics on network utilization and availability. Address server issues as needed. Manages performance tuning and capacity planning activities to enhance the performance of the network resources. (15%)


5. Other duties as assigned. (Note: For DSHS positions this includes but is not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.)(5%)

Troubleshooting and repairing IT related hardware and software

Initial Screening Criteria:

 

Experience in supporting Microsoft Windows desktop Operating System in a local or wide area network environment.

Experience working in a trouble ticket resolution environment, such as Remedy.

Experience in Active Directory.

Experience providing desktop support.
