Job Description:

Under the guidance of the Leadership Development Team Manager, the Executive Leadership Academy Point Leader performs highly advanced (senior-level) training and development work. Serves as an integral part of a team that facilitates the HHS System's leadership development program designed to enhance the personal and professional leadership of all employees; Leads the Executive Leadership Academy as the primary point leader, organizer, and facilitator; Designs, develops, and delivers high-impact presentations to participants in all four programs and academies of the HHS System’s leadership development program; Provides one-on-one coaching to individual leadership program participants to achieve specific individual development goals; consults with HHS System Divisions and Programs regarding leadership development needs; Designs, develops, and delivers original leadership development presentations to agency staff, conferences, and workshops upon request; Collaborates with HHS Divisions and Programs and provides guidance and consultation for fostering good leadership and management communication practices; Assists the design, development, and implementation of new technology training and presentation initiatives; Provides statistical analyses and research for evaluating the effectiveness of the Executive Leadership Academy; Exercises independent professional training judgment and expertise in assessing and developing responses to leadership development needs; Determines the best evaluation techniques to ascertain the effectiveness of certain presentation content or formats; Identifies and prioritizes areas for agency leadership development; Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Administers and delivers the state-wide HHS System’s Executive Leadership Academy, including presentations, content creation, organization, and coaching. (50%)

Develops and delivers workshop, conference breakouts, and keynote presentations upon request. (15%)

Collaborates with HHS Agencies to design, develop, implement and assess individual and organizational leadership development needs. (10%)

Oversees the design, development, and implementation of new technology to enhance leadership program experience and content delivery. (10%)

Provides guidance and consultation for leadership and professional development topics and activities. (5%)

Provides statistical analyses and research for effective evaluation of the HHS System’s leadership development program, including development of measures and analysis of data; (5%)

Evaluations and Reports are compiled accurately and submitted timely. (5%)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of leadership principles, practices, and techniques

Knowledge of innovative training and development techniques and best practices

Knowledge of and ability to apply instructional design and curriculum development principles, including development of learning objectives

Skill in planning and budgeting of various employee development programs

Skill in evaluating quality and effectiveness of employee development programs and analyzing results

Skill in facilitating workshops, training and development sessions and meetings

Skill in applying training and employee development procedures and techniques

Skill in using a computer and applicable software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Forms, etc.

Ability to develop employee development programs and formulate development/learning objectives

INITIAL SCREENING CRITERIA:

Graduation from a four-year university

Minimum three years in a training role

Public speaking experience
