Job Description:

 

This is a temporary position from June 1, 2025, to

August 15, 2025.

 

The summer intern position is open to current high school and college students who are interested in learning about state government administration and records management practices and procedures, while gaining valuable experience working for the State of Texas. This position provides support to various teams in the Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) division. The summer intern position may complete assignments including, but not limited to, reviewing procurement files for completeness, researching and verifying contract-related data in various databases, drafting reports and documents, and entering data into Microsoft Excel. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Reviews procurement files for accuracy and completeness.

Enters data into an automated system.

Maintains confidential records, files, and/or logs.

Communicates on a basic level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information.

May assist in preparing reports and/or other communications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

 Knowledge Skills Abilities:

 

Basic knowledge of office procedures.

Basic knowledge of computers and standard office software applications.

Skill in the operation of computer and general office equipment.

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
