The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The Clerk III, Maintenance shall perform clerical duties including answering and routing telephone calls; typing/keyboarding; maintaining files; communicating with Maintenance staff, staff in other departments and the general public; and maintaining and updating files. 

 

Essential Job Functions (EJFs):

 

Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

  • Enters, verifies, and retrieves data using a computerized record-keeping system to facilitate exchange of information and produce accurate and adequate records.
  • Processes paperwork to fulfill departmental and division needs and support the needs of the campus.
  • Uses office equipment such as fax and photocopier; software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; a computerized program of facilities and maintenance record-keeping such as CAFM 10; and various other established formats, to provide needed support.
  • Assists telephonic and other types of requests for help in order to support campus employees and operations.
  • Communicates to facilitate Maintenance-related business and promote productive work relationships with others.
  • Files documentation in order to have orderly, accurate, and complete records.
  • Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

 

Working knowledge of business terminology, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic. Skill in using Microsoft Office or similar software such as Word, Outlook and Excel. Skill in using a calculator, copier and facsimile machine. Ability to maintain records, files and reports. Ability to type and make data entry into a computerized system of recordkeeping. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Initial Screening Criteria:

 

Experience in clerical work.

Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred

 

Additional Information:

 

Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing.

 

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
