Brief Job Description:
Works under the general supervision of Chief Financial Officer leadership performs complex computer systems analysis work. Identifies and satisfies technical requirements by acquiring or developing appropriate information systems products and services. Develops and maintains complex software applications. Analyzes business processes to identify opportunities and develop strategies for improving business productivity and achieving organizational objectives.
Work may involve planning, assigning, and/or supervising the work of others. Effectively communicates technical solutions and requirements to technical staff charged with acquiring, developing, and/or implementing products and services, and helps to ensure that standards are met. Trains others, as needed. Uses project management to manage and report project resources and status.
Participates effectively on cross-functional teams in a spirit of cooperation and flexibility. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Work outside of regular hours may be required. Travel to other work location may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
- Responsible for coding, testing, and supporting highly complex ETL data warehouse applications to meet program area needs. Rigorous testing includes coordination with the technical support staff for integration testing to ensure quality products before distribution. Product support includes analyzing production problems as described by the customer, systems analyst, and/or program area support staff, problem solving to keep the program area applications operational and ongoing maintenance and enhancements to data warehouse. (20%)
- Participates in system development activities (i.e.: analysis, design, develop, implement) to meet business needs if appropriate products or services cannot be more cost effectively purchased or identified. Analyzes business process requirements and prepares detailed structured data flow analysis diagrams, verification of procedures, and database entity relationship diagrams to satisfy new software demands. Develops and maintains functional and technical specifications via the preparation of detailed flowcharts, tables, reports and other descriptive materials necessary for coding, testing and documenting complex automated systems. Documents all system development activities in accordance with Agency Software Development Lifecycle and Project Management guidelines. Schedules work and assists supervisory personnel in assignment of tasks. (20%)
- Evaluates existing and proposed computer applications to verify business requirements, system requirements, and equipment configurations are considered. Analyzes complex business processes, equipment, and techniques for applicability, reliability, efficiency, speed, cost, flexibility, and meeting customer needs. These duties include coordinating applications interfaces with other areas within the Department as well as between State Agencies with the coordination of management. (20%)
Snowflake Duties (20%)
- Data Load and ETL Monitoring
- Monitor scheduled data loads and ETL jobs.
- Troubleshoot failed or slow data loads.
- Coordinate with ETL developers for issue resolution.
- Coordinate with ETL developers for ETL improvements/optimization.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Monitor warehouse performance and query execution.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., long-running queries).
- Recommend and implement warehouse scaling or clustering.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Manage storage usage and retention policies.
- Archive or purge outdated/unnecessary data.
- Apply best practices for cost control.
- Incident and Problem Management
- Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests.
- Document and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain knowledge base articles for common issues.
SAS and IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) Support Duties (20%)
- Job and Workflow Monitoring
- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly ETL job runs.
- Investigate and resolve job failures or performance issues.
- Restart failed jobs and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Connection and Integration Management
- Set up and maintain connections to source/target systems (databases, cloud apps, etc.).
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Change and Release Management
- Deploy new or updated mappings, workflows, and tasks.
- Validate and test changes in lower environments before promoting to production.
- Incident and Service Request Handling
- Respond to tickets and service requests.
- Provide root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Document solutions and update runbooks.
Common Support Activities Across Both Platforms
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for processes, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
- Reporting: Provide regular status reports on incidents, job status, and platform health.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Proven experience as a Data Center Migration Consultant or in a similar role, with expertise in data center infrastructure and migration processes.
- Strong knowledge of on-premises data storage systems, virtualization, and networking technologies.
- Familiarity with data center architectures, data replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop effective migration plans and solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Experience with business intelligence and big data solutions.
- Experience in developing, deploying, and managing applications and data storage.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support analytics and reporting.
- Experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms, and APIs.
- Experience in architecting and designing ETL pipelines using Informatica tools.

Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from a college or university with major course work in Math, Science, or Computer Science related preferred.
Must have at least three years of experience in systems analysis and design work or developing software.
Education and experience can be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
Experience with Snowflake preferred.
Experience with Azure preferred.
