Brief Job Description:
Oversees and trains staff in Bindery department. Work with the Bindery Supervisor to assist in scheduling of jobs and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met. Set up, operate, and trouble shoot equipment. Perform maintenance when appropriate. Communicate with other areas concerning the status of jobs. May supervise the work of others.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Oversee daily operation of Bindery department. 35%
Assist in the scheduling of jobs through department. 5%
Assist Bindery staff as needed with operation, maintenance, scheduling and troubleshooting issues. 5%
Communicate with other departments on the status of jobs. 4%
Set up and operate bindery equipment to complete jobs with minimal waste. 40%
Box and label completed jobs. 4%
Read and accurately follow instructions from job ticket. 5%
Record production data in log. 2%
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of: Printing and bindery functions.
Skilled in: The set up and operation of large folders, booklet makers, cutters, collators, and stitchers.
Ability to: Follow written and oral instructions. Lift and move items weighing 30 pounds. Stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods of time. Work harmoniously and productively with co-workers. Work irregular hours. Maintain accurate records. Make basic mathematical computations and tabulations. Communicate clearly with other workers.

Initial Screening Criteria:
10 years’ hands on experience operating bindery equipment and managing post press workflow.
