Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of the Public Health Region (PHR) 6/5S Immunization Program Supervisor, the Immtrac Coordinator serves as the subject matter expert on the statewide immunization registry (ImmTrac2) for Public Health Region 6/5S. Responsible for implementation of regional ImmTrac2 activities targeting all age groups. Collaborates and routinely works with ImmTrac2 users to include local health department ImmTrac2 Program Outreach Specialists, school nurses, regional immunization staff and immunization stakeholders providing ImmTrac2 education, training, technical assistance and recruitment. Reviews ImmTrac provider activity reports and dashboards and discusses opportunities for improvement and best practices. Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
(40%) Community Health Education and Provider Outreach:
Serves as the regional subject matter expert for the statewide immunization registry, ImmTrac2. Provide education, technical assistance and training to registered ImmTrac2 users; including regional immunization staff, local health department immunization staff, private and public health care providers, first responders, schools and daycare facilities. Education and training will be conducted using a variety of electronic and non-electronic equipment, use of web based applications and Department of State Health Services (DSHS) ImmTrac2 educational and marketing materials. Promotes ImmTrac2 by presenting ImmTrac2 educational information to various stakeholders and community organizations such as schools, universities, the general public, hospitals, first responders, TVFC/ASN providers and other potential ImmTrac2 stakeholders. Educational offerings will include a definition of a registry, the purpose of parental/adult consent, the functions of ImmTrac2, the importance of having all immunizations entered into ImmTrac2 and ImmTrac2 data synching and quality improvement strategies. Conduct recruitment activities of potential ImmTrac2 users.
(40%) Program Support:
Provides routine activities in identification, outreach, education, data entry and follow-up for children and their families who are consented to participate in ImmTrac2, but who do not have complete immunization histories in the registry. Utilizes a variety of methods to identify and contact the family of children who are consented to participate in ImmTrac2, which may include working with ImmTrac2 generated client lists. Contact may be made by telephone calls or sending a letter. This position is responsible for generating reports from ImmTrac2: 18-year-old list, Public Outreach Provider List and the Client Outreach list, Provider Activity Reports and Texas Immunization Provider Summary (TIPS) dashboard usage. Maintains confidential individual client files and client outreach attempts. Documents all educational, technical assistance, training provided and outreach.
(15%) Quality Assurance:
Reviews the ImmTrac2 portion of the local health department’s quarterly report. Assists with conducting Immunization On-site Reviews of contracted local health departments as requested by Program Supervisor. Assist with collecting data for Provider Quality Improvement Process (IQIP) visits and follow-up as requested by Program Supervisor. Assist with data entry into Child Health Reporting System (CHRS) as requested by Program Supervisor
(5%) Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver’s license, or equivalent license from another state.
Certified Health Education Specialist or Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) preferred.
Initial Screening Criteria:
Bachelor's degree. Coursework in a public health, government administration, or related discipline from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience working in government administration, Immunizations program, or a clinical setting with vaccines or medical customer service may be substituted for degree requirement on a year to year basis.
Experience providing instructional presentations or technical assistance to a variety of audiences.
Certified Health Education Specialist or Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) preferred.
Experience with computer databases or electronic registries.

Must comply with agency immunization policy
Compliance with DSHS Immunization Policy required: serologic evidence of immunity to, or documented evidence of vaccination against, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Tdap, annual vaccination against influenza (and hepatitis B if applicable).
Safe operation of either a state owned vehicle or personal vehicle is required to conduct state business, applicants will have their driving records checked through the Department of Public Safety and applicants must have a valid Class C Texas driver's license, or equivalent license from another state.
