Brief Job Description:
The Appeals Program Improvement Specialist performs highly advanced consultative and technical work to include project management, technical assistance, data analysis, as well as developing quality assurance tools, performance metrics, and quality improvement processes. The Program Improvement Specialist will work collaboratively with all internal and external partners to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Office of Appeals. The position works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Performs highly advanced consultative, technical and research functions in support of the Office of Appeals.
Plans, develops, implements, and monitors special projects and other data-driven initiatives associated with due process.
Analyzes quality control error findings for trends or patterns and prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for quality improvement.
May plan, organize, and facilitate internal and external meetings and workgroups.
Represents OOA at meetings, conferences, workgroups, and other events.
Performs other duties as assigned to maintain business operation.

Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Five years’ DFPS experience plus two years in a supervisory role. Acceptable substitution: Five years’ DFPS experience plus three years’ experience in quality assurance, process improvement, developing and implementing process improvement strategies, project management, or data collection and analysis.
