Brief Job Description:
CPS Program Support Spec FSS I Description: Performs complex consultative and technical work in the planning department and implementation of an agency program. Work involves providing consultative and technical services to agency program staff, other governmental agencies, community organizations and the general public. May train and /or supervise the work of others. Handles special assignments and other duties as assigned. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The position interacts routinely with children and families, representatives from various organizations, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the general public.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships between Child Protective Services staff and law enforcement officials, judicial officials, legal resources, medical professionals, and other community resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.
- Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
- Assist with child without placement scheduling and logistical maintenance.
- Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. Works closely with the Program Administrator and the managers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skills in running reports and tracking data.
Ability to operate a personal computer and use various software packages including, the Information Management Protecting Adults and Children System and Word.
Ability to travel.

Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years cumulative Child Protective Services Specialist II or above experience AND currently employed as a Child Protective Services Specialist II or above in INV, CVS, or FBSS.
Additional Information:
Position will be housed at 2525 Murworth and is the Direct Report to Service Program Administrator (SPA) Jane Dominguez although they will provide support to FBSS Program Administrator Demetria Gaines. The position supports Harris County SPA Program, Family Based Safety Services and Child without placement Logistical
