Brief Job Description:

The Region 7 CPI Mentor Program Supervisor V reports to the Director I of Leadership and Staff Development.

Performs advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing major agency program(s) and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the general public. May serve as a lead worker providing direction to others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position will be responsible for supporting new caseworkers (protégés) and mentors during CPI Training Academy and CCI Training Academy. This position interacts routinely with CPI and CCI staff at all levels, Learning and Development staff, and at times community partners.

Essential Job Functions:

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Manages the mentor program to include recruitment and training of mentors as well as pairing and tracking of mentor and protégé assignments.
• Provides support to mentors and protégés during CPI Training Academy and CCI Training Academy .
• Provides assistance to protégés, mentors and supervisors with tasks outlined on the Individualized Training Plans to help achieve goals and objectives.
• Maintains regular communication with Learning and Development Training Academy staff on performance of protégés in class, etc.
• Meets with protégés to conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) and discuss items on NEO checklist in detail.
• Is available to provide support to unit supervisor, mentor, protégé and academy staff regarding performance issues and progress on field tasks.
• Coordinates conflict resolution between protégé and mentors with regional leadership.
• Coordinates, schedules and monitors field trainings/seminars for new staff.
• Assists with evaluation of protégé's performance through weekly check-in calls and/or conversations with mentors, supervisors, and academy trainers.
• Coordinates with Learning and Development needs related to quiz resets.
• Interprets program policy and procedures to staff, other agency staff and the general public.
• Administers Title IVE Stipend Student Program Contracts, locating field placements, background checks, SPARC and Form 4047.
• Tracks and addresses mentor capacity/sustainability.
• Maintains CPI and CCI Mentor Forms.
• Updates CPI Mentor Program Resource Guide as needed.
• Serves as liaison between certification specialist and new employee as they move from CPI Investigator I to II.
• Promotes, monitors, and ensures that respect is demonstrated.
• Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.
• Attends work on a regular schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; of public administration and management techniques; of statistical analysis processes; of budget processes; of research techniques; of training and marketing techniques; and of program management processes and techniques.
Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program performance and in the use of a computer and applicable software.
Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; to market programs; to prepare reports; to develop, evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures; to communicate effectively; and to serve as a lead worker providing direction to others.
