Brief Job Description:
The position performs complex administrative and technical program assistance and support for Office of Appeals Director, Division Administrator and Appeals staff. Work involves providing administrative support including disseminating information, assisting with maintaining filing systems, and preparing and editing reports and documents. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Acts as a single point of contact for the Office of Appeals and provides general information to callers. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining electronic filing systems, coordinating and scheduling meetings, conferences, and training. Assists in the technical support of program operations, routinely working with agency databases such as IMPACT and CLASS. Submits requests required to maintain division operations, requestions for purchase orders, and office supplies. The position handles sensitive and confidential information and prepares and submits correspondence and documents as requested by the Appeals Director. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs other administrative duties as assigned to maintain Appeals program activities and attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.

Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.

Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

Initial Screening Criteria:
High school diploma or GED
Two years full-time administrative support, general office, clerical, or secretarial experience;
Experience in the use of standard office equipment and software products, including Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
DFPS admistrative support experience and working knowledge of agency databases and systems is preferred.

Position may be filled in either Austin or San Antonio.
